Janani and Harish’s traditional Hindu wedding in Chennai proved to be one of the most exhilarating mandap experiences I’ve encountered. Amidst the hustle and bustle, capturing clean images required considerable effort as we navigated through the bustling crowds that surrounded them on the stage. Despite my previous experience photographing South Indian weddings in Chennai, this event offered quite a fresh perspective.
One surprising aspect was the couple’s reception, held at the Sri Ramachandra Convention Centre a day prior to the wedding, contrary to the usual sequence. This venue conveniently situated near the historic Marutheshwara Temple in Thiruvanmiyur, allowed Janani and Harish to seek blessings from the local priest before their reception, adding another touch of tradition to their celebrations.
Despite my years of experience shooting weddings in India and attending numerous ceremonies in Chennai, I continuously find it challenging to anticipate the unique obstacles that a Chennai wedding photographer may encounter while navigating the intricate traditions of such ceremonies. Personally, I never imagined having to weave through dense crowds just to catch a glimpse of the couple, but I must admit, it added an element of excitement to the experience.
I’m grateful that amidst the hustle and bustle, we were still able to capture a few precious moments of Janani and Harish on stage amidst the lively festivities. Janani and Harish, here’s to a lifetime of happiness together! 🥂
