As a wedding photographer in Goa, I get to witness love stories unfold against the most stunning backdrops imaginable. Dina and Carl’s wedding at the Taj Exotica resort in South Goa was one such unforgettable celebration. I first met them a few months before their big day, when they flew in from London to finalise details for their beach wedding. From the moment we met, I knew this wedding was going to be special.
Weddings in Goa have a unique charm that’s hard to put into words. There’s something about the ‘susegad’ state of mind — that easy-going, relaxed Goan spirit — that makes these celebrations feel more soulful and intimate. Some say this laid-back culture is fading under the pressures of modern life, but when you’re standing on a beach with the Arabian Sea stretching endlessly before you, it’s hard to believe that anything has changed.
wedding photographer in Goa: A South Goa Beach Wedding
Dina and Carl chose Goa not just for its beauty, but for the calm and joy it brings. They decided to have two ceremonies in a single day — a vibrant Hindu wedding in the morning, followed by a classic white beach wedding in the afternoon. As a wedding photographer in Goa, I’m always drawn to multicultural celebrations like this; they reflect the couple’s journey and the rich, diverse spirit of this place.
Being based here, photographing weddings in Goa often feels like shooting in my own backyard. It’s comfortable, familiar — but it also challenges me to see this paradise with fresh eyes each time. That’s why, instead of doing a typical couple shoot around the resort, we took a little detour the day before the wedding. We drove south through the lesser-known back roads to Cabo de Rama, a rugged coastal area that contrasts beautifully with the manicured elegance of the resort.
That short trip turned out to be a brilliant decision. The couple was relaxed, the light was just right, and we created a set of images that told a very different, very real story of Goa. For a wedding photographer in Goa, it’s moments like these that keep the work inspiring — where spontaneity meets storytelling, and the ordinary becomes extraordinary.
Dina and Carl’s South Goa beach wedding was everything you’d want from a celebration in this part of the world — intimate, joyful, full of color and emotion. If you’re planning your own destination wedding and are looking for a wedding photographer in Goa who knows the land and its light, I’d love to tell your story too.
