Last post was all about the first part of Raahil & Pia’s stunning destination wedding in Goa; the Champaign lunch at the forest, the Teeka and engagement on the beach, and the after party. It is now the time for part two, and the finale of the wedding day which started with the ‘Aloha’ Haldi lunch at the ‘Dunes’, the Barat that took over two hours (!), and the finale of the wedding on the beach.

If the Mehendi lunch was a relatively quiet event, as much as a crazy wedding can be quiet, the haldi was not. Foot massage point on one end, and water showers for rain dance party on the dance floor on the other side were set in the colourful Hawaiian decor.

I am actually a bit unclear as to how the couple made it to the second day still on their feet. Last night’s party lasted till the early hours of the morning and neither of them got any sleep at all! A long 48-hour non-stop wedding celebration that showed no signs of slowing down.

DESTINATION WEDDING AT PARK HYATT GOA

The baraat was a story on it’s own. Larger, longer, wilder than any baraat I have ever seen! From the ‘Dunes’ to the beach, a distance of approximately 200 meters, the procession took more than two hours! Two hours of dance, drums, excitement and emotions. When it finally reached the venue of the weddings itself on the beach, when everyone could start relaxing, it started again with a vengeance. If there was a prize for baraat processions this one took first, second and third place hands down.

Again, a big congratulations to Raahil and Pia. This wedding will stay itched in my memory forever! 🙂 Thank you for having us with you on your special day. It was indeed a pleasure meeting you both and hanging out with you and both families.
