The world is filled with thousands of languages to communicate, yet a picture can speak volumes without uttering a word. The beauty of speaking without words is subliminal. Imagine the power a photographer has! Also, imagine a photographer losing out on opportunity to capture a picture just because he/she did not have the (right) equipment.
With the advancement of technology and the quick pace of upgrades happening in the optics and imaging product world, not everyone can afford to keep up. Adding to this, different brands cater to different needs. We don’t blame you for wanting more! On the other side, we also see people who have a lot of equipment but don’t frequently use it.
KitKarma —a safe, peer-to-peer photo/video equipment sharing platform is an attempt to close this gap in the photography/videography community. On KitKarma, anyone can lend personal, underutilized equipment or even carry out a lending business and at the same time borrow equipment that is not easily available with traditional lending businesses. Where else would you get a Large Format film camera, a Hasselblad 500CM or a Pentax 67, or even a few latest Leica Rangefinders? The peer to peer model ensures that the depth and breadth of equipment is second to none.
Started by PV Subramanian, a photographer himself, KitKarma is an endeavor to create a community and thus a supply of cameras, lenses and accessories for borrowing at affordable prices locally or at a travel destination.
